Fellow Members of the Rotary Club of Staten Island,

Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Staten Island. The theme of Rotary International this year is "Reach Within to Embrace Humanity", and our club's mission includes this theme and embraces it.

Rotary plays an important role in each of our lives.  By sharing our enthusiasm to better the communities in which we live, work and play we enrich the lives of those around us.  From the youth we teach and clothe to the elderly and families we feed we touch more lives in one year than I ever dreamt possible.  We are a club of 61 members and we help thousands of Staten Islanders every year with the "little" things we do.  Each and every one of you is important to this club and an asset to our community.

Times being what they are, the needs of our club, community and world have increased. The demands upon each of us have grown. During this challenging economic downturn we have put more pressure on ourselves to maintain our level of normalcy while seeing friends, family and neighbors suffer drastic changes in their lives.  Requests for help come in to the club on a regular basis and we find it harder and harder to meet those needs.

We are a resilient club, however, and marking our 90th year, we commit to surviving these times, while doing what we can to help our neighbors both next door and around the world.

The Rotary Club of Staten Island has been embracing humanity for 90 years. I look forward to another year of service, another year of building our community. I ask each of you to spread the word of Rotary to others. There is no better way to prosper during difficult times than side by side.

A little moral support can go a long way.

I look forward to the year ahead, to building my relationships with our current members and hopefully a few new ones along the way.
